Active COCO Visits Deep End in La Jolla

This past weekend, Michelle and Katelyn, co-founders of Active COCO, took a deep dive—literally—into one of the most unique fitness communities on the California coast: Deep End, a water-based workout group in beautiful La Jolla.

Deep End isn’t your average swim session. It’s an immersive breathwork and underwater training experience that challenges both body and mind. Participants perform underwater breath-hold exercises, dynamic swimming drills, and deep-focus practices that tap into the power of the breath and the body’s resilience in water. It's rigorous, meditative, and deeply community-driven.

For Michelle and Katelyn, this visit wasn’t just about observing—it was about connecting. They met with the Deep End community, talked with lifeguards, chatted with lap swimmers, and shared the mission behind Active COCO: helping swimmers and water athletes protect their hair before they dive in.

To share the love (and the hair care), we brought Active COCO samples for everyone. From lifeguards keeping the shores safe to athletes pushing their breath-hold limits, we were thrilled to see our pre-swim hair barrier spray being embraced by a group that understands the wear and tear salt, sun, and chlorine can have on hair.

Here’s what we took away:

Community matters. Deep End isn't just a workout—it's a supportive, inspiring group of people who show up for each other, week after week.

Water is powerful. Training in water brings resistance, calm, clarity, and connection—both physically and mentally.

Discipline is key. Underwater training is no joke, and watching this crew push themselves to new limits was deeply motivating.

Culture drives everything. Being around people who live and breathe the water reminded us exactly why we created Active COCO—to protect and support those who make water a part of their everyday lives.

We’re incredibly grateful for the warm welcome and inspired by the passion and energy of the Deep End crew. If you're in the La Jolla area and looking for a water workout that’s unlike anything else, we highly recommend diving in.

Until next time—stay protected and stay active.
