2026 Speedo Junior National Championships

The first week of August marks one of the most exciting times of the summer swim season as the nation's top junior athletes gather in Southern California for theĀ 2026 Speedo Junior National Championships.

Held August 3–7 at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatic Center in Irvine, California, this prestigious meet brings together some of the fastest swimmers in the United States, all competing for national titles and personal bests. For many athletes, qualifying for Junior Nationals represents years of dedication, early morning practices, and countless hours spent in the pool.

Only swimmers who achieve demanding qualifying time standards earn the opportunity to compete, making the championship one of the most competitive age-group meets in the country. Eligible athletes must be 18 years old or younger at the start of the competition, and many of the swimmers racing this week are future NCAA standouts, Olympic hopefuls, and national team members.

Each day begins with preliminary heats in the morning, where swimmers race for a chance to advance to the evening finals. Finals sessions feature multiple championship levels, allowing athletes to continue competing against some of the best junior swimmers in the nation. Distance freestyle events, relays, and a full schedule of individual races make for an action-packed week of competition.

For families, coaches, and teammates, Junior Nationals is much more than a swim meet. It's the culmination of an entire season of training and the chance to watch months - and often years - of hard work come together. The atmosphere is filled with excitement as swimmers celebrate personal records, support one another, and experience the energy of competing on a national stage.

The championship also highlights the strength of swimming as a lifelong sport. Behind every race is a story of perseverance, discipline, and commitment. Whether an athlete is touching the wall first or achieving a new personal best, every swim represents progress earned through dedication.

As the competition unfolds this week, swimmers from across the country will showcase not only their speed, but also the sportsmanship and resilience that define the swimming community.

To everyone competing in Irvine this week, congratulations on earning your place at one of the premier junior swimming events in the United States. We wish you fast swims, unforgettable memories, and the confidence that comes from knowing your hard work has brought you to this moment.

Good luck to all of the athletes, coaches, and families - we'll be cheering you on all week long!

Happy Splashing, Katelyn and Michelle
